Exploring the United States: 5 Spring Break Family Trip Ideas for 2024

Spring Break is one of the most traveled times for families each year! Planning in advance is so crucial when planning Spring Break trips as airfare can get pricey as you get closer to your dates if you are planning on flying. Room availability also can get scarce as you approach the dates of a Spring Break trip that you are planning on booking—further proving that the earlier you book-the better!

Here are 5 suggestions for Spring Break travel within the United States for 2024.

  1. Orlando, Florida - We know that the park with the Mouse is a big hit here (Walt Disney World), along with Universal Studios Orlando. Legoland, Seaworld and other amazing theme parks are also close to Orlando. Outdoor activities such as Lake Eola Park where you can enjoy paddle boating & picnics, the nearby Kennedy Space Center, and the Chocolate Kingdom where you can take a factory tour and learn how chocolate is made are also some non-theme park entertainment options there. Orlando is always great for families as it offers endless entertainment and attractions. There is truly something for all ages in Orlando.

  2. Washington DC - Spring is such a wonderfully beautiful time to visit our nation’s capital. Families can explore historical sites such as the White House, The U.S. Capitol, and Ford’s Theater. Monuments such as the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, MLK Jr. Memorial, World War II Memorial and more. The Smithsonian Institution housing 19 museums, National Art Gallery, Holocaust Memorial Museaum, and National Museum of African American History and Culture can also be visited while there. The National Cherry Blossom Festival also takes place here in spring!

  3. San Diego, California - Pleasant weather, beautiful beaches, and family friendly attractions like Balboa Park that encompasses 17 museums, several art galleries, beautiful gardens and the famous San Diego Zoo and/or adventure a Legoland San Diego make San Diego a great option to visit during Spring Break! San Diego is the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure!

  4. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina - This is such a popular coastal destination known for family-friendly beaches, amusement parks, entertainment shows and more! There are so many beach activities, mini-golf, and variety of dining options. Take a day and drive over to Charleston, SC (approx. 2 hours) and visit River St.

  5. Grand Canyon, Arizona - Perfect for families that love the outdoors! Breathtaking views and exciting hiking opportunities await! There are many guided tours and mule rides available for those that want to explore the Canyon!
